More information

  • KIORI is a sustainable lighting product made from wood thread derived from thinned timber. By repurposing forest resources, it helps reduce waste while preserving the natural warmth and texture of the wood without artificial coloring. Due to natural variations in the wood thread, slight differences in color may occur between batches.

Delicate layers of wood thread create a balance between solid structure and airy translucence, casting a soft, inviting glow. Inspired by traditional Japanese lanterns, its design complements any space while promoting environmental responsibility.

Wood yarn
Wood yarn
"Moku-ito" (wood thread) is a new type of yarn made from *washi* (Japanese paper) derived entirely from domestically sourced timber harvested during forest thinning operations.
Forests cover approximately 70% of Japan's land area, and trees have played an integral role in our lives since ancient times.
Woven from the warmth of wood and the gentle quality of *washi*, Moku-ito is not only environmentally friendly but also a material that allows us to rediscover the value of Japan's nature and culture.
Craftmanship
Craftmanship
Our manufacturing technology is a fusion of craftsmanship and machinery. Our craftsmen manufacture each product by delicately controlling the conditions of the yarn, which vary depending on the temperature and weather conditions of the day. The fusion of human and machine hands produces one-of-a-kind products that are never the same in this world.
Steel
Steel
Each is carefully hand-drawn in Japan. The entire product is custom-made to match the spherical shape of the company's sade, giving it a beautiful spherical shape like a full moon floating in the night sky.
Detail
Detail
The shades are inspected in detail by human eyes and hands to ensure that defects in materials such as threads and resins, as well as stains after completion of the shade, are not overlooked. Each completed shade is carefully brushed in the finishing department to remove any stains. Finally, the finished cades are checked by the inspection department and shipped.
